Inspiration Flows from Family and the Great Outdoors

My parents and grandparents are my sources of inspiration. With their love of nature and the world around us, my parents and grandparents were environmentalists long before there was a formal environmental movement. When I was a child, the time we spent outdoors--on the farm, in the mountains, or simply in our backyard--informed my future choices and shaped nearly everything I do from recycling to collecting vintage treasure, from rescuing castoffs to creating something unique from someone else's trash.

Always with an eye toward whimsy, I enjoy creating new delights from old treasures. Vintage anything has interested me since I was a child. As far back as I can remember, I've dedicated myself to reclaiming, recycling and repurposing castoff items that others no longer want. I'm especially drawn to rusty, crusty, dusty whatchamacallits and thingamabobs. For me, the thrill is in the hunt. I'm a nature lover and gardener, photographer and do-it-yourselfer.
